LATS is the public transportation system serving the City of Lawton, Oklahoma. For more than 23 years, LATS has provided reliable fixed-route and paratransit services to support the mobility needs of residents, workers, students, and visitors throughout the community.

LATS is governed by the Lawton Public Transportation Trust, which is composed of the elected City Council members of Lawton. Management and daily operations are administered on behalf of the Trust by Hendrickson Transportation Group (HTG).

Our fixed-route buses operate on a scheduled service with departures at the top of each hour. Route 8 (Yellow Route) operates at increased frequency, running every 30 minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition to local routes, LATS also provides shuttle service to Fort Sill Military Base.

LATS operates fixed-route service six days per week and does not operate on Sundays.

Holiday Service
LATS does not operate on major federal holidays. Holiday service schedules and closures are announced in advance to ensure riders have adequate notice and access to service updates.

LATS General RULES OF CONDUCT

FOR THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF ALL OUR VALUED RIDERS

  1. For the comfort of all passengers, eating and drinking are permitted. Beverages must have a secure lid. Rider fares and tax dollars support the maintenance of LATS vehicles and amenities please help us keep buses clean.

  2. Riders must be on the correct side of the street for the bus to stop. Operators are unable to wait for passengers to cross the roadway.

  3. Please keep seats clear of personal belongings so other passengers may sit. Store bags, boxes, and parcels under your seat and keep aisles unobstructed at all times.

  4. If standing, riders must hold onto handrails or seat backs while the vehicle is in motion.

  5. For safety reasons, do not stand in the ramp area or in front of the yellow line near the farebox.

  6. Headphones or earphones are required when using any personal audio or media devices, including but not limited to cell phones, tablets, and music players.

  7. Profanity, vulgar language, harassment, and disorderly conduct are not permitted.

  8. The use of tobacco or vapor products is strictly prohibited on all LATS buses and vehicles.

  9. Only service animals are permitted onboard.

  10. Please allow passengers to exit the bus before boarding.

  11. Fares must be deposited directly into the farebox. Operators are not permitted to handle fares and cannot make change.

  12. Buses cannot stop within construction zones. If cones or barriers block a designated stop, please move to a safe location outside the construction area where the bus can safely load passengers.

  13. LATS accommodates oxygen respirators, concentrators, and portable oxygen on all revenue service vehicles and at LATS facilities.
